Generation of high-speed aerosol beams by laval nozzles

  • 1. Max Planck Institute, Gottingen

Description

High-speed aerosol beams of small aperture angles may be obtained by accelerating the aerosols in a Laval-nozzle flow. The mean radius of the spherical particles was about 0.2 macro m; as carrier gas air and He have been used. The results are compared with those obtained for a free jet flow out of a spherical orifice
