Description

An installation for measuring angular dependences of elastic and inelastic scattering cross sections of protons and nuclear reactions in the range of both large (10 to 170 deg C) and small (-5 to +30 deg) angles is described. This is attained by increasing the ratius of a part of the chamber for small angles measurents. The chamber design permits remote variation of the rotation angles of detectors, their distances from the target, to place in the centre of the any of 8 targets fixed on a special rotating target disk, to change angles between the target plane and incident beam direction. Step-by-step engines are used for remote control of devices inside the chamber. The installation is used for studying of elastic and inelastic 18.6 MeV proton scattering by nuclei and cross sections of the (p, d)-, (p, t)-, (p, 3He)-reactions in experiments conducted in a cyclotron. A time-of-flight semiconductor surface-barrier detector (TΔE-detector) and a surface-barrier detector of total absorption (E-detector) are used as measuring instruments
