Study on Synthesis Procedure of Rare Earth Citrate Complexes from Ln(La,Ce)Cl3 Solutions in Laboratory Scale at 100g/Batch

  • 1. Institute for Technology of Radioactive and Rare elements, No.48, Lang Ha, Dong Da, Ha Noi (Viet Nam)

Description

Synthesis processing of rare earth (La, Ce) citrate complexes were carried out in laboratory scale of 100g/batch from 200g/L concentration Ln(La, Ce)Cl3 solutions that is calculated by total rare earth oxides in which 50% La2O3 and 50% CeO2. Rare earth citrate complexes were synthesized by using citric acid and Ln(La,Ce)Cl3 solution. The experimental results showed that the optimum conditions are as follows: time reaction is 5 hours, temperature is 80℃, pH is 3.5, molar ratio of materials is 1.25∶1. The efficiency of the complexing reaction was over 95% at scale 100g/batch. The formula and chemical composition of the rare earth citrate complexes were determined by thermal analysis, infrared spectroscopy and ICP-MS. This research products will be added to feed in the further studies. (author)
