Low-temperature infrared absorption of gamma-irradiated LiF crystals
Creators
Description
The infrared spectra of single crystals of lithium fluoride irradiated by a 60Co source at the liquid nitrogen temperature were investigated. An absorption band at 2360 cm-1, resulting from the decay of hydroxyl ions under low-temperature irradiation and stable up to temperatures below 100 deg C, was found. The indicated band is due to the appearance of interstitial hydrogen ions
