A geometrical approach in the parton model
Description
A possible impact parameter approach to hadron-hadron interactions in the parton model is suggested. Some qualitative features of pp data are discussed in the frame of the parton model (rising cross sections, a shrinking of the forward peak, a limiting fragmentation). The quantitative estimates for dsigma/dt based on the parton model agree with data for small t quite well. Reliable results for higher t values could not be obtained because of numerical difficulties. (author)
