Radioactive liquid wastes processing device
Description
Purpose: To enable to perform the procession of filtration and photo-oxidizing reaction together in a simple structure, as well as perform back-washing for the filters easily as required. Constitution: A filter is disposed in a vessel for oxidizing to separate organic compounds in radioactive liquid wastes. A filtering vessel is disposed below and an oxidizing vessel is disposed above the filter, and a UV lamp of inside irradiation type is disposed at the center of the oxidizing vessel while retained in a jacket. Air, oxygen, ozone or the like is used as the oxidant. If the filter performance is reduced, a back-washing gas is blown to the inside of the oxidizing vessel to conduct back-washing. Porous metal or ceramics are appropriate as the material for the filter. (Horiuchi, T.)
