Description
The properties are described of the deuteron as a system of two bound nucleons. Nucleon-nucleon scattering is discussed and the spin dependence of nuclear forces is explained. The isospin formalism is introduced and the charge independence is shown of nuclear forces. A detailed description is given of nuclear force properties and frequently used phenomenological nucleon-nucleon potentials are discussed. (S.P.)
