Description

The purpose of the exploration work carried out from above ground so far was investigation of the overlying rock, including the hydro-geological conditions and the investigation of the salt strata, as well as finding suitable points for starting shafts. PTB did the exploration work with the help of many firms and institutions, where the geo-scientific planning supervision and assessment of the work and the geoscientific consultancy was provided by BGR. The German Society for the Construction and Operation of Final Stores for Radioactive Waste (DBE) was increasingly involved in doing the fieldwork. (orig./DG)

Abstract (German)

Die bislang von ueber Tage aus durchgefuehrten Erkundungsarbeiten hatten sowohl die Untersuchung des Deckgebirges einschliesslich der hydrogeologischen Gegebenheiten als auch die Untersuchung des Salzstockes selbst sowie die Festlegung geeigneter Schachtansatzpunkte zum Ziel. Die PTB fuehrte die Erkundungsarbeiten mit Hilfe zahlreicher Firmen und Institutionen durch, wobei die geowissenschaftliche Planung, Ueberwachung und Auswertung der Arbeiten sowie die geowissenschaftliche Beratung der PTB durch die BGR erfolgte. Fuer die Abwicklung der Feldarbeiten wurde im Laufe der Zeit in zunehmendem Masse die Deutsche Gesellschaft zum Bau und Betrieb von Endlagern fuer Abfallstoffe mbH (DBE) eingeschaltet. (orig./DG)
