Porous ZnO films growing on aluminium-contained substrates

Description
Structural and emission characteristics of porous nest-like ZnO films deposited on porous aluminum oxide substrates by using a chemical bath deposition method are investigated. EDX (energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) examinations showed that the deposited films contain aluminum impurity. At room temperature under UV excitation the porous nest-like ZnO films exhibit a photoluminescence band at 400 nm. An origin of the observed emission band and application possibilities of the porous film are discussed. (author)
