Computer-aided training for operating personnel in process control, realized for dispatcher training

Description
On highly automated systems the penalties of a severe failure are very great. Fortunately, emergency situations have low probability, and consequently the operator does not gain the necessary practice in handling fault conditions. Because of safety requirements, training by running the process under critical conditions is out of question, thus only simulator training will provide the necessary experience. A low cost training simulator of high flexibility concerning process model and man-machine interface was developed. (orig./GL)

Bei Fehlfunktionen und im Stoerungsfall sieht sich der Operateur - infolge des normalerweise automatischen Betriebes ungeuebt - ausserordentlich komplexen Aufgaben und Entscheidungen gegenuebergestellt. In rein theoretischem Training kann der Bediener kaum die Faehigkeit erwerben, Stoerfaelle schnell und sicher zu bewerten und zu beheben. Praktisches Training am Prozess ist nicht moeglich, da kritische Situationen zu Uebungszwecken nicht herbeigefuehrt werden koennen, so dass ein realistisches und effektives Training nur mit Hilfe von Simulatoren moeglich ist. Durch Kombination eines Ein-/Ausgabe-Farbbildschirmsystems - das als Leitstand in verschiedenen Zweigen der Industrie erfolgreich eingesetzt wird - mit billigen Mikrorechnern wurde ein bezueglich Prozessmodell und Gestaltung der Mensch-Maschine-Schnittstelle flexibler, kostenguenstiger Trainingssimulator entwickelt.
