Description
An approach to the collective excitations of a many-body system, derived from a special maximum-entropy-based variational approximation for the ground state, is developed and applied to a fermionic model. An excellent agreement with the exact spectrum and exact eigenstates is obtained over the whole range of the pertinent coupling constants. The thermodynamic limit is also examined. (orig.)
