Description
Objective: To evaluate CT findings of cervical lymph node metastasis in patients with thyroid carcinoma. Methods: CT of 33 patients with thyroid carcinoma and cervical lymph node metastasis were retrospectively analyzed and compared with pathology. Results: On CT, 110/141 (78.6%) pathologically confirmed metastatic lymph nodes contained multiple punctate calcifications (35/110, 31.8%), appeared cystic (51/110, 46.4%), showed nodular (47/110, 42.7%), or homogeneous (12/110, 10.9%) contrast enhancement. Conclusions: Some characteristic CT findings of metastatic cervical lymph nodes in thyroid carcinoma may aid pre-operative diagnosis. (authors)
