Vacuum container for a thermonuclear device
Description
Purpose: To obtain a vacuum container excellent in the strength and rigidity, producing less induction current, easy to manufacture and having a high dimensional accuracy. Constitution: The walls of hollow and circular container generally in a torus configuration and containing plasmas to the inside thereof are prepared by continuously disposing circular members each of an I-shaped cross section in the torus direction, and welding the adjacent circular members at the flange portion of I-shaped cross section with each other. Since the container comprises the thus fabricated circular members, it can be manufactured at a high accuracy, and high quality products can be obtained since electron beam welding can be applied.
