Capturing device for radioactive corrosion products

Description

Purpose: To effectively collect radioactive corrosion products contained in electroconductive liquid. Constitution: Magnetic field is applied to an electroconductive liquid such as liquid sodium passing between collecting materials in the direction perpendicular to the flow of the liquid. Then, an eddy current is generated around the magnetic field to forcively disturb the electroconductive liquid due to the interaction between the eddy current and the magnetic field. Thus, the boundary layer formed near the surface of the collecting material is also disturbed to render the layer thinner or shed. Specifically, the boundary layer can be rendered thin or shed whereby almost of the entire radioactive corrosion products contained in the coolants flowing between the collecting material can be captured.
