On Possibility of Low Threshold Parametric Decay Back Scattering Instabilities in Tokamak ECRH Experiments
Description
The experimental conditions leading to reduction of backscattering decay instability threshold in tokamak ECRH experiments are analyzed. It is shown that substantial reduction of the threshold is provided by localization of lower hybrid or ion Bernstein decay waves possible due to non monotonous profile of plasma density in the central region or in the vicinity of magnetic island. The corresponding pump power threshold and decay wave amplification is calculated.
