Description
Solubility in systems containing cationic surfactant—alkylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride (catamine AB), inorganic acid, and water is studied. It is shown that nitric and perchloric acids, the anions of which have low energies of hydration, have the greatest salting-out ability. The optimum parameters of extraction in a HNO3–catamine AB–water system are determined and the potential of its use for the concentration of thallium(III) is demonstrated.
