Description

Computational-experimental studies on a plasma, formed during a powerful electric explosion of thin copper wires are presented. The experiments are carried out with the ''SNOP-1'' high-current pulse generator with pulse duration of approximately 100 ns and amplitude current of approximately 200 kA. Two regimes of conductor explosion are consi.dered: explosion in water and in vacuum. Comparison of the experimental data with unidimensional magnetohydrodynamic calculations has shown the approach to the description of plasma properties in the region of states with the temperature up to 50 eV and density approximately 0.01 g/cm3 to be corre
