Nodal space-time kinetics code PANBOX-current status and development
Description
This paper gives a description of the main features and capabilities of the nodal space-time kinetics program system PANBOX (Ref. 1). The code is used for reload safety analysis and all kinds of transients in which the power distribution is significantly affected. Apart from input and output processors, it consists of dedicated modules that treat specific transients such as long-term events like xenon redistribution and short-term accidents like rod ejections. Emphasis will be placed on the discussion of solution methods for neutronics and thermal hydraulics, especially with respect to the related thermal margin evaluation methodology. Perspectives for further development and refinements are also discussed
