Influence of mercaptoethylamine of post-irradiation kinetics of bone marrow colony-forming units (CFU-s) in sublethally irradiated mice

Description
In bone marrow collected 30 min after whole body X-irradiation with 200 R the CFU-s content dropped to about 1/8 of the normal level both in control and in MEA treated animals. Transplantable bone marrow CFU-s content in MEA treated mice decreased further during next few days following irradiation. Slight radioprotective effect of MEA was evident when bone marrow counts of nucleoted cells were considered. (author)
