Description
New mechanistic description on the occurrence of critical heat flux (CHF) and stable film boiling is presented from the view of wetting construction. Self-organized processes resulted from the interactions among dry patches are demonstrated. The conditions for the occurrence of catastrophe and hysteresis in transition boiling are investigated. The unifying explanation on hydrodynamic models and dry patches models is given. The present studies are in good agreement with the experimental observations from other researchers
