Problems of powerful pulse beam generation for inertial fusion

Description
State-of-the-art in inertial thermonuclear fusion on a target using ion beams, in particular, light ion beams is reviewed. Basic requirements for such beams for demonstrational experiment were formulated, main trends of technological base development, the most optimal diode types operating at multiterawatt level were considered, problems of homogeneous plasma production on the diode surface, decrease of angular divergence of beams, their transport and focusing to a target, alternating circuits of PIB generation including acceleration in consequent sections, use of plasma-erosion commutators were analysed
