Description
This paper reports on the information collected by the IAEA from experts involved in the preparation of technical documents on the long term maintenance of records and documentation for radioactive waste repositories. The paper deals essentially with this issue for deep geological repositories for long lived waste such as vitrified high level radioactive waste, spent fuel waste and TRU-waste, being the scope of this conference. The present state of the considerations formulated by the experts and the scientific staff of the International Atomic Energy Agency about the information to be conserved, strategies, responsibilities and requirements, record management system, and guidance for the implementation and record keeping is presented
