Analysis of intermediate energy photonuclear reactions

Description

The cascade-Exciton Model (CEM) of nuclear reactions has been extended to describe photonuclear disintegration at intermediate energies. Using the CEM and the ORNL version of the Intranuclear Cascade Model for incident energies higher than the giant dipole resonance (GDR) region, and a group theory formalism based on the Interacting Boson Model in the GDR region, it is have been analyzed a variety of data for reactions induced by photons with energies up to ∼ 1.2 GeV and target-nuclei from 12C to 243Am. The contributions of different photons absorption mechanisms and the relative role of different particle production mechanisms in these reactions are discussed

Abstract (Russian)

Каскадно-экситонная модель (КЭМ) ядерных реакций расширена для описания фотоядерного расширения при средних энергиях. Используя КЭМ и ORNL версию внутриядерной каскадной модели для падающих энергий выше, чем для области гигантского дипольного резонанса (ГДР) и формализма теории групп, основанной на модели взаимодействующих бозонов в ГДР области, проанализировано множество данных для реакций, вызванных фотонами с энергией примерно до 1,2 ГэВ и ядрами-мишенями от 12C до 243Am. Обсуждается вклад различных механизмов фотоадсорбции и относительная роль механизмов рождения различных частиц в этих реакциях
