Three dimensional analysis of eddy current in tokamak fusion structural components with boundary element method

Description
A mathematical formulation for the governing equation of eddy current is presented based on the boundary element method. The characteristic features of the formulation are: (1) variables are reduced to only one normal component of the current vector potential on a surface, (2) a volume interval is not included resulting in surface mesh division (3) adoption of a non-local term resulting in omission of a magnetic scalar potential. A two-dimensional approach for arbitrarily shaped shell is also presented with application of an oblique curvilinear coordinate system. Some numerical results are presented to demonstrate its validity
