Formation of defect structure in lithium fluoride crystals irradiated in electric field

Description
Experimental results show the effect of the electric field on the process of radiation generation of defects under the action of combined n, γ-irradiation. The observed increase in the dislocation density (as compared with irradiation without field) and simultaneous decrease of F-center concentration shows that the electric field promotes the aggregation of point defects even at low temperatures (100 K) when diffusion processes are reduced. The field effect on the distribution of radiation generated defects in the sample bulk is also observed. (author)
