A novel method for complete dissolution of CaF2 slags
Creators

Description
Slags resulting from calciothermic reduction of metal fluorides are difficult to dissolve and pose problems in recovery and analysis of the precious metal (∼2-5%) remaining in them. In the present urea method the slag is boiled with nitric acid and urea to give rapid and complete dissolution. Results of the studies on pure CaF2 and CaF2(U) slag are presented.
