Pulsar restlessness as induced by an external source

  • 1. Libera Universita di Trento, Povo (Italy). Dipt. di Fisica

Description

A statistical analysis of available data gives evidence in favour of the notion that a number of restless pulsars feel disturbances emitted by a localized source in our galaxy. The pulsars may act as detectors of bursts of gravitational radiation, emitted by another neutron star, which induce vortex unpinning in the neutron superfluid. (author)
