Bianchi I inflation: Assumptions and inconsistencies
Description
We examine the arguments that have been given concerning inflation in anisotropic Bianchi I cosmologies and find that all treatments thus far contain serious inconsistencies which render the conclusions suspect. We propose several alternatives to remedy a few of these inconsistencies and present numerical results. A proper treatment of Bianchi I inflation evidently requires a quantum theory of gravity.
