The ALEPH event-processor
Description
The task of the ALEPH Event-Processor is to reinforce the selectivity of the electronic trigger system in order to match the primary data rate with the data recording capability. A reduction factor of approximately 10 in rate is envisaged by a software separation of the genuine e+e- events from background triggers using the full granularity and improved precision of the triggering detector elements. The talk will describe the multi-processor hardware and the system related software for the event readout from the FASTBUS data source into the trigger processors and the transfer of the selected events into the host VAX 8700.
