Analysis of DNA damage response using by heavy ion beam in induced pluripotent stem cell

Description
Stem cells have high efficiency of chromosomal recombination but the mechanism is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the cell sensitivity to several DNA damage treatments such as High/Low linear energy transfer (LET) radiation and other DNA damaging agents in stem and differentiated cells. In recent studies, we found that plagl1-positive glioma stem cells showed resistance to mitomycin C, whose damage is repaired by homologous recombination. This finding suggests that plagl1-induced dedifferentiation might increase homologous recombination activity. (author)
