Description
We show that deformed Hartree-Fock calculations with Skyrme interactions result in a near degeneracy of many-particle, many-hole states, e.g. np-nh states in 40Ca with n=2 to 8. The role of the spin-orbit interaction and kinetic energy is examined. (author)
