Reactor container
Description
Purpose: To moderate impact shock resulted from shock waves in water due to bubble pulsation by disposing a shock absorber plate in a pressure suppression chamber. Constitution: A safety valve for releasing steam is provided to a main steam pipe connected to a reactor container so as to prevent abnormal pressure increase in the container. When the safety valve is actuated, air in an exhaust pipe is pressurized and released into pool water to result shock waves in the water. Since the shock waves act as a dynamic load on the bottom liner provided at the bottom of a pressure suppression chamber, a perforated shock absorber plate is provided above the bottom liner in order to adsorb the dynamic load. The shock absorber plate is preferably disposed between the opening of the exhaust pipe and the wall of the pressure suppression chamber in the pool water. (Kawakami, Y.)
