A parallel plate avalanche counter as active aperture of a magnetic spectrometer
- 1. Hahn-Meitner-Institut fuer Kernforschung Berlin G.m.b.H. (Germany, F.R.)
Description
A simple active aperture for the suppression of slit scattering in a magnetic spectrometer, using the sensitivity area of a parallel plate avalanche counter, is described. The suppression of background at low excitation energies and small angles for inelastic scattering is demonstrated. (orig.)
