Description
Semi quantitative results on the spatial distribution of calcium over the surface and in depth of the dried drop layers have been obtained by using the laser multichannel atomic-emission spectrometry method and a local analysis of the Ca line intensities in spectra for the samples of dried drops of the blood plasma from the patients with brain tumors. The correlation between the distribution of Ca over the surface or within the sample volume and severity of the disease has been revealed. The proposed approach to determination of the spatial calcium distribution by estimation of the Ca line intensity in the above cases is a vivid and reliable source of information that enables one to follow dynamics of changes in the ability of albumin transport in blood plasma of the patients. This makes it possible to control the grade of tumor and the results of therapy. The proposed approach may be useful for presymptomatic diagnosis and prophylaxis, for the control of rehabilitation process. Monitoring of the albumin and calcium content in blood plasma, together with normalization of the immune status and peroxide processes, offers individualization of the treatment scheme and the possibility to follow the process of the patient's health recovery. The approach looks very promising, and it may be used in search for tumor markers and for the development of the techniques revealing the pathological processes at the preclinical stage of the disease. This enables one to find the cause of the elemental disbalance; to select purposefully the medicinal preparations and effective additives; to adjust the treatment process. (authors)
