Extractive photometric determination of molybdenum(VI) as thioglycollate complex with N-benzylaniline
Description
Molybdenum(VI), as thioglycollate complex, can be quantitatively extracted with N-benzylaniline into chloroform from hydrochloric acid media. The yellow complex shows maximum absorbance at 355-360 nm. The complex in the organic phase is stable for 2.5 hr and obeys Beer's law in the range of 5 to 20 μg Mo(VI). Most cations and anions do not interfere. The molar absorptivity of the extracted complex is 3.05 x 103 litre mol-1 cm-1. (author)
