Description

The Dutch national strategy 'Make room for climate' sketches the outlines set out by the Dutch government. It is now time to shape the adaptation in everyday practice of planning and measures. The consequences of climate change are diverse (safety, water, environment, economy) and most of all uncertain. The adaptation will need to be given a place in the national and provincial plans, as well as in local initiatives. This report maps the main characteristics of the consideration and decision-making on adaptation measures and offers recommendations for practical application based on example projects.

In de Nationale Adaptatiestrategie 'Maak ruimte voor Klimaat' schetsen de Nederlandse overheden de grote lijn. Het komt er nu op aan om de aanpassing ook in de praktijk van plannen en maatregelen vorm te geven. De gevolgen van klimaatverandering zijn divers (veiligheid, water, natuur en economie) en vooral ook onzeker. De adaptatie zal een plek moeten krijgen in de nationale en provinciale plannen, maar ook in lokale initiatieven. In dit rapport worden de belangrijkste kenmerken van het afwegen en besluiten over adaptatiemaatregelen in kaart gebracht en aanbevelingen gedaan voor het toepassen in de praktijk op basis van voorbeeldprojecten.
