Theories of permanently bound quarks

  • 1. Department of Mathematics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02139

Description

A relativistic theory of permanently bound quarks is studied. A covariant wave equation is formulated which describes a system of bound spin-0 constituents. The bound states of quarks are found to lie on approximately linear Regge trajectories. Locality and the cluster decomposition property are discussed in the context of these theories. Multimeson states are described. Procedures for calculating form factors and structure functions are outlined. This paper concludes that theories of permanently bound quarks are physically acceptable relativistic particle theories
