The effects of noise and buncher nonlinearities in the production of very short beam bunches
Creators
- 1. Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories (Canada)
Description
The coupling of electrostatic accelerators to compact superconducting cyclotrons often requires the production of very short beam bunches. The random energy spread (noise) of the beam as well as buncher nonlinearities can both be limiting factors in the production of the required beam bunches. Techniques for alleviating these problems are presented
