Spectral determination of impurities in alkyl derivatives of high purity lead

Description
A method of spectral determination of impurity elements in lead alkyl compounds, preliminarily subjected to thorough purification, has been developed. Before the analysis the alkyl derivatives were converted to lead nitrate, and then to lead oxide for the convenience of the impurity spectral determination. The spectra are excited in a d. c. arc. The determination limits are (nx10-4%):In-0.2; V-0.5; Mo-0.6. The method developed is used to control the impurity content in tetraethyl lead and tetramethyl lead of high purity
