Spallation and fission in heavy metal nuclei under medium energy proton bombardement
Description
The problems I am going to deal with in this paper are related to our work in setting up codes and calculating nuclear processes in the target for the Rutherford SNS. It is important to emphasize that SNS is a pulsed facility. Therefore all our approaches are based on this, not on a continuous source. We are in a situation where we have to use theory to predict the performance of our source and problems associated with it, before we actually build the facility. (orig.)
