Cesium-137 in sediments from the Baltic Sea after the Chernobyl accident
Description
The Chernobyl fallout in April 1986 hit the Swedish Bothnian sea coast to a relatively large extent. Extended sampling program to follow uptake and mobilization of Cs-137 at different trophic levels in the aquatic environment started immediately after the accident. This report presents the results from the sediment analyses during 1986 and 1987. The Cs-137 concentration has increased. Related to measurements carried out 1982, the concentration is about 4 times higher in some regions. (K.A.E.)
