Proton Hypophysectomy in patients with locally disseminated mammary carcinoma

Description

The authors analyze the results of multiple-modality treatment including proton hypophysectomy in 48 patients were followed up and were healthy for 5 and more years, in 8 of them radical mastectomy was carried out. After proton hypophysectomy an early radiation reaction was observed in days 2-3 manifesting by headache and herpes in 14 patients: transitory diplopia was observed in 4-6 months in 3 patients: temporal epilepsy developed in one case. Replacing hormonal therapy had to be administered to 4 patients
