The cost of the nuclear kilowatt-hour

Description

The hypothesis and the estimated economical risks of the 1976 synthesis report of the Belgian Ministry of Economic Affairs are discussed. The financing risks are underestimated because of the lack of experience with plants of 1300 MWe and the rapid increase of construction costs in the seventies. The cost of waste disposal and the dismantling was not included as well as some hazards insurance cost, scientific research and the nuclear pollution. The social impacts are also analysed. (A.F.)
