Ion fluxes in a magnetic self-isolation line

Description

Investigated is the effect of ion currents, occuring at anode plasma production on the work of the coaxial line with magnetic self-isolation in the regime with limiting current. In this case the electron current is locked on the side surface of the positive electrode in the cathode end region with a characteristic width, identified by the ''3/2'' law. When the power-contribution exceeds 100-200 J/g, plasma and ion current with < or approximately 300 A/cm2 density appear. In the case of artifical production of anode plasma in a wide region of the line length at the expense of the charge, sliding on the dielectric surface obtained is ion current up to 5 kA with good homogeneity. Equilibrium condition of the electron layer is preserved in the region of ion radial fluxes. Consequently connected line segments have different impedances. Determined are characteristic peculiarities of such coupling operation, having common nature. Given is the composition with calculations, carried out in hydrodynamic approximation
