The role of DNA repair in the realization of oxygen effect in Escherichia coli after irradiation with ionizing radiation with different let. (Theoretical analysis)

Description

The induction of basic types of DNA damage in E. coli cells in the both presence and absence of oxygen has been considered. A new model explaining oxygen effect after γ-irradiation for different mutants of E. coli is proposed. The model parameters have been determined from available experimental data for various mutants of E. coli. On considering repair possibilities the numbers of various types of DNA damaae have been calculated and compared with experimental data. Good agreement is demonstrated
