Classical theory of electromagnetic radiation emitted by a system of relativistic particles
Description
The classical theory of energy and momentum losses by a charged particle and the theory of the spectral-angular distribution of radiation emitted by such particles are adapted to losses and the radiation emitted by a system of relativistic particles. The classical theory of the time-angular distribution of the radiation of energy and momentum by a system of relativistic particles is developed. This theory is based on the physical definition of a system of emission events and the center of the system of emission events. The motion of a bunch of particles in a uniform magnetic field is considered in detail, and the compatibility of three possible approaches to the emission of such a bunch is demonstrated. The shape of a bunch capable of emitting pulsed coherent radiation is indicated. Polarization formulas are derived and examples of the radiation emitted by a bunch are considered. 5 refs., 11 figs
