Description
This report issued by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE) takes a look at the work done within the framework of the 2012 Swiss Research Program on radioactive wastes. The implementation program for the period 2013 - 2016 is discussed. Long-term aspects such as knowledge conservation and marking concepts are investigated and regional participation in the planning of repositories is discussed. Environmental protection, the planning of repositories and the definition of their content are discussed. Monitoring concepts and emergency closure in crisis situations are also looked at. The associated material technologies and repository design are discussed. Finally, ethical considerations and environmental policies are discussed. Two appendices include information on the timelines involved as well as information on the players involved and their areas of competence
