Alara and waste disposal

Description

Due to various specificities of the waste management field (involvement of long term, large uncertainties and/or probabilistic events), the ALARA procedure requires some modifications in order to be applied to this particular field. This paper illustrates, in a critical way, the various possible adaptations and the relative interest of implementing ALARA in the case of waste management
