Study of Hf-Ni-Ga and Hf-Cu-Ga systems

Description

Using X-ray, microstructure and local X-ray spectral analyses, the isothermic sections were plotted for 800 deg C of the constitutional diagrams of the Hf-Ni-Ga and Hf-Cu-Ga systems. The existence of five ternary phases was confirmed and nine other ternary phases were discovered in the Hf-Ni-Ga system. The results also confirmed the existence of three previously reported ternary phases and of two other ternary phases were discovered in the Hf-Cu-Ga system. The crystalline structure of T- and W'(HfNiGa5)-phases of the Hf-Ni-Ga system and of X0(type KHg2 structure) phase of the Hf-(Ni, Cu)-Ga systems was determined
