Uncertain times for platform constructors in the Netherlands

Description
Although oil companies are slowly starting to make plans for developing new oil and gas fields, the order intake for construction of new platforms has drastically decreased for Dutch platform constructors. There are opportunities, but these are mainly to be found in the wind energy sector in the countries surrounding the Netherlands.

Hoewel oliemaatschappijen weer voorzichtig plannen maken om nieuwe olie- en gasvelden te ontwikkelen, is de orderintake voor de bouw van nieuwe platformen bij de Nederlandse platformbouwers drastisch afgenomen. Kansen zijn er nog wel, maar die liggen hoofdzakelijk in de windenergiesector in de ons omringende landen.Additional details
